Acoustical musings

We often hear songwriters say, if a song is good, it can be played on an acoustic guitar. While I think there may be some exceptions, I do believe there is some truth to the saying.

I didn't even own an acoustic guitar until relatively recently. Over the past year I've been writing and performing with my beautiful new SEAGULL Amber Trail Mini Jumbo - far more than I'd ever expected to. Amazing guitar, made in Canada - check them out! It's been an educational experience, and a very different approach and challenge for a rock guitarist and songwriter.

The live performances have been with a stripped down version of Creeping Beauty - featuring lead vocalist V, and myself. We have also been demoing a few tracks that way too. Live, we play a few originals, and a whole lot of cover songs that probably should not be played on acoustic guitar. I guess I'm determined to test the above theory!

The latest songs I've written and recorded are acoustic versions of tracks for my first "SOLO" release... coming soon. Killer vocal contributions so far are from Mitch Foster, and V.

I will keep posting various clips and links on the site, so check back often, and let me know what you think!

ROCK and/or ROLL!
